The Full Fury - Part 4 (USA)

FURYIn this, the penultimate instalment of our Sea Fury / Fury series we concentrate on aircraft that are resident in the United States. Most of these have found their way to the Air Racing Circuit being heavily modified along the way, some so much so that they have little to do with Hawkers original design! Most have had their original 5 bladed prop Centaurus power plant replaced with to the four bladed prop Wright Cyclone. The reasons for this that there is a greater availability of American engines and parts, and perhaps American engineers are more familiar and comfortable with 'homegrown' power plants!

This is of course not the first time aircraft have been seen 'waterskiing' but it is the first time that it has been done as a formation. This article sets out a little background to the team and most importantly, the 'flight in question' as related by one of the pilots………don't try this at home!!
